Collecting Forward

Give a young collector their first piece.

A way for one collector to help another begin — starting with the people already around this work

A recent original that found a home: Shoreline Secrets.

Art is about to change hands

Original work should not only be inherited or scrolled past. It should be lived with. This is how a first piece can change hands through a relationship, not a campaign.

Who this is for

People under 40 who already care about art, Hawaiʻi, the ocean, or this work — and are not collectors yet. Established collectors who would rather introduce someone than take a courtesy discount. Not a club. Not a list.

The gift-forward credit

When a collector declines a courtesy discount, that value does not disappear. It becomes credit toward a first original work for a younger person they choose.

1. The collector declines the discount.
2. That amount becomes credit in a younger person’s name.
3. The credit builds toward their first piece.
