In Submerge, Ruben explores the feeling of surrendering completely to the ocean — floating beneath the surface, held by water, light, and stillness. The work is a meditation on retreat before renewal, on the quiet that exists just below the threshold of the visible world.
Part of Ruben's Stratalux series, meaning "layers of light," Submerge uses luminosity as part of its emotional atmosphere — light filtered through depth, diffused and softened into something almost interior.
