Created during the forced stillness of the pandemic, Rise grew from a deep desire for hope, freedom, and movement at a time when the outside world had suddenly narrowed. The work carries an upward emotional pull — a call to move beyond confinement, uncertainty, and fear with strength and courage. In Ruben’s practice, transformation often appears in the moment between one state and another. In Rise, that threshold becomes deeply personal.
